Investigations

  • Lillington Police Detectives conduct initial and follow-up investigations of criminal incidents and threats of criminal conduct. They interview persons connected with all aspects of the investigation, develop contacts and information sources concerning criminal activity and threatened criminal activity. Detectives arrest offenders, identify, collect and preserve physical evidence, prepare written reports of investigative efforts, testify in court, and work with various information outlets to gather data or other electronic information. Most members of the investigations division have at least 2 years of Patrol experience before joining, but this experience is not required for consideration. All officers must complete Basic Law Enforcement Training.
